Welcome to Victoria
Boasting over 200 acres of reserved land, nine lakes and thirteen parks in Carver County, Victoria is called "The City of Lakes and Parks." Located about 25-30 minutes southwest of Minneapolis, Victoria is most easily accessed via US Highway 5 and US Highway 7. The city was established in 1851 by a European settler named Michael Diethelm. An early farming community, steamboats and the railroad played a role in the city’s development by bringing the necessary supplies. The area features rolling hills, lakes, farmland, and Minnesota River bluffs. Also located in Victoria is the Carver Park Reserve, which is the largest wildlife habitat area in the seven-county metro area. The Eastern Carver County School District is made up of eight elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools.
